There are many opportunities to serve at Church At The Cross. We want you to find the one that best suits your passion, personality and availability. If you are passionate about changed lives and are ready to serve, search from the list and then proceed to the Volunteer form below.
These classes are offered on Sunday mornings, Tuesday mornings (Women), and Wednesday nights. They include Discovery (New Members), Financial Peace, doctrine, and other topics.
These groups meet on campus each Sunday morning for fellowship and a discussion-based lesson. Groups also have outings/events outside the walls of the church on a regular basis. LIFE Groups are based on life-stages and are open to all!
These studies meet throughout the community on Sunday evenings. The purpose of these study groups is to have in-depth studies in the Word of God and connect with others in the community. These studies are open to all!
These closed discipleship groups meet on campus each Wednesday evening, as well as off-campus each Sunday night and throughout the week. 3 – 5 members (gender specific) meet weekly (10 – 12 months) for a time of study, accountability, scripture memorization, and prayer.
Next Generation Ministries
If you love children, we have a place for you to serve. We need LIFE Group teachers for infants – 4 year olds. We need coordinators and on-call teachers for both morning worship services. Please contact us for more specific needs.
We need lobby greeters, assistant LIFE Group leaders, and volunteers for Jr. Church on Sunday mornings.
Come volunteer in our new Ignite Preteen Ministry at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays as we help 5th-6th graders transition to the next level.
Middle School Ministry - “Redefined”
“Redefined” is a new Middle School Ministry we will be starting in the spring of 2016. We are looking for volunteers to serve as chaperones and event assistants.
- Need help with our Welcome Desk for LIFE Groups on Sunday mornings
- Need moms/couples who can help with cooking, preparation, and serving for events
- Passionate teachers/assistants for LIFE Groups
- Host homes for our Disciple Now event
Need volunteers to tutor K5-5th grade students in an after school program at Heart of Mercy Community Church of the Nazarene, 1531 Mercy Dr., 407-293-7784. Volunteers are needed M-T-Th-F 4-5:30 p.m. and Wed 3-4:30 p.m. They meet during the school year and observe all school holidays. You can choose one day or several days a week.
The College Ministry is looking for volunteers to serve in multiple areas. If you are musically talented, love to teach, or just like mentoring college age students, we have a place for you! The College Ministry meets each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. for LIFE Group and on Wednesday nights at 8:00 for our College Worship Service. Come plug in and serve with us!
Many people come forward in our worship services during the invitation time to give their life to Jesus Christ or to become a member of the family at Church At The Cross. We need godly men and women who have an understanding of the Bible and can provide spiritual counseling as well as being able to lead someone to faith in Jesus Christ.
Volunteers needed for responding with love, healing, and help to people who are hurting because of an unexpected disaster. The next church training opportunity for Disaster Relief will be Spring 2016. Visit www.flbaptistdisaster.org for more information.
We need men and women with compassionate hearts who have a desire to minister and bring encouragement to our beloved members who are “homebound,” those living in nursing homes, as well as those who are new and expectant moms.
We need men and women who would visit our first time guests on Monday evenings. The hours for visiting are between 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Reaching out to those in our community to provide food assistance while also ministering to their spiritual needs. Volunteers needed: Third Saturday of each month – counselors, helpers, general duties. Third Thursday of each month – food receiving/sorting.
Intercessory Prayer Team
This coed group meets every Thursday, 9:00-10:15 a.m. to lift up prayers and petitions to the Lord for matters regarding our church, our community, our nation, and the world.
Love In Action
Do you have the gift of “Helps”? There are times that one of our members, who does not have the finances or family to help, need someone to take them to a doctor’s visit or pick up medicines or groceries. Something could be broken that a handyman may be able to quickly fix. Let us know of your abilities and available times.
Occasionally, members of our Widows ministry need help with repairs around their homes (i.e. light woodworking, electrical or mechanical repairs). If you would be willing to offer assistance from time to time, just let us know about your abilities and willingness to help.
Central Station is our information desk in the lobby where members and visitors can come to get information on events, LIFE Groups, studies and more in our church. Our guest services volunteers will greet new visitors and members as they come in to the lobby and help answer any questions they may have.
Volunteers needed who would help serve and set-up food services for special events (i.e. Deacon Summit, marriage conferences, banquets, etc.).
Men and women are needed to provide a good “first impression” as people enter our Worship Center to attend a worship service. It is important that they are greeted with a smile and a kind word of encouragement.
Medical Emergency Team
Medically trained volunteers needed to be on-call on a rotating basis during the worship services in the event of an emergency.
Parking Lot Team
Parking lot greeters/shuttle drivers are the first to welcome guests to our church, give them needed information and directions, and give assistance in every way possible. Men and women are needed who can serve from 8:30-10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, once a month
Volunteers needed to provide security during Sunday and Wednesday services and special events.
Requires men with servant’s hearts – serving with humility, kindness, and joy. Must maintain a pleasant countenance before the people while being helpful in assisting with a variety of responsibilities before, during, and following the worship service.
Adult Worship Choir
If you love Jesus and love to sing, come join us! You do not have to know how to read music. No previous experience needed. We practice every Wednesday from 6:15 – 8:00 p.m. in C127/128.
Need camera operators and a producer for Sunday 9:00, 10:30, and 5:30. No previous experience necessary. Need to be dependable, on-time, and have a teachable spirit.
If you have a child from the age of K through 6th grade who loves to sing and/or do drama, we would love for your child to be a part of this dynamic ministry on Wednesday nights. We need volunteers from 6:00-8:00 p.m. No musical experience necessary.
Looking for volunteers of all ages to be a part of skits and dramas within the worship service. Rehearsal times will vary on an individual basis.
Must have previous experience on your instrument of choice. We rehearse every Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. on the Worship Center platform.
If your youth (7-12 grade) loves to sing and worship Jesus, we would love to have them join the Youth Choir. We meet every Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m. in B119.
Volunteers needed to vacuum and clean the buildings.
Volunteers needed to help with painting and general repairs of the church facilities.
Special Events Set Up
Volunteers needed to set up and tear down for worship services and special events
Drivers needed for special church and school events. Need to have a DOT CDL license and a physical.
Central Florida Christian Academy
Need volunteers to assist classroom teachers in processing copies for classroom use. Many time slot opportunities available. Need help with concession stand and admission gates to all athletic events. Need volunteers to prayer walk around campus before school once a week who are willing to pray faithfully and to meet regularly.
Church Plants - Clermont Central Church
We need volunteers to help us knock on the doors of new residents, welcome them to the community, talk to them about the church and possibly share the gospel. We also need volunteers in the areas of children’s worship.
Church Plants - Independence
We need volunteers who could form the core group of a new church in the Independence area off CR 545. Need to be able to commit to the work, to pray, to give, and to begin to serve in 2016 on our advance team for that community.
The Communications Department is seeking volunteers with knowledge in graphic and website design, search engine optimization, social media marketing, explaimer video production and much more. Seeking additional volunteers, both hearing and deaf, to strengthen our growing ministry. If you are hearing and want to know American Sign Language (ASL) or want to increase your knowledge of ASL, we have a place for you. Additional deaf volunteers are always needed to teach, lead in activities, and serve in other important ways.
An encouraging word, a gentle hand, a kind call are all part of a Legacy adult volunteer. If you have a nature that desires to minister to mature adults, we have a place where your giftedness can best be put in service.
The Recreation Ministry needs coaches, assistant coaches, referees, and help with field maintenance.
